Modem Connection Problems

90% of connection problems can be traced back to the software, or "firmware", your modem is using. Often times, even new modems have firmware that's over a year old. Modem manufacturers are constantly updating the firmware for faster and more reliable connections. Updates are free and can be downloaded from manufacturer's website. Before contacting Technical Support, be sure to check the following:

- Is your modem plugged into a working phone jack?
- Be sitting at your computer.
