your computer for Dial-up, please make sure you have the following information
ready.
- Local Access Number (Local Access
Numbers can be found here)
- username
- password

Configure
Dial-up Networking
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and
Internet Connections
2. Click on Create a new connection --> Connect to the Internet
--> Next
3. Select Set up my connection manually --> Select Connect
using a dial-up modem
3. Enter BASIC NEEDS as the ISP name --> Next
4. Enter your Local Access Number as
Phone Number --> Next
5. Enter your username, password and check all 3 boxes --> Next
6. Select Add Shortcut to Desktop and select Finish |

Configure Web Browser
1. Click on Start --> Control Panel --> Network and
Internet Connections
2. Click on Setup or change your Internet connection
3. Enter http://www.basicneeds.net
or simply www.basicneeds.net as
your start page page under the text field Address for Home Page
4. Click on the tab labeled Connections
5. Select Dial whenever a network connection is not present
6. Highlight BASIC NEEDS connection and click Set Default
7. Click OK

Optional
Configure
E-mail
1. Click on Start -> All Programs --> Outlook Express
2. If this is the first time you have run this program go to step 5.
3. Click on Tools --> Accounts
4. Click on Add --> Mail
5. Enter your name as you would like it to be displayed when people
receive E-mail from you. (Ex. John Doe) --> click Next
6. Enter your E-mail address
(ex. jdoe@basicneeds.net) --> click Next
7. Select My incoming mail server is a POP 3 server -->
click Next
8. Enter basicneeds.net as your Incoming mail server
9. Enter basicneeds.net as your Outgoing mail server
10. Enter your email username and password --> click Next
11. Click Finish --> Close
12. To check for new mail click Send/Recv |
| After
you have configured the above steps. You can browse the web by Clicking on
Start --> Programs --> Internet Explorer or
Netscape. Start using your optional E-mail address by
clicking on Start --> Programs --> Outlook Express |
